Training course (short-term)

Purpose

  • Develop international professional labor force for resolving policy tasks for each central administrative organization.
  • Construct 21C knowledge and information social basis through policy system acquisition of advanced countries

History

  • Conducted from point of introduction of ‘77 overseas training system
    ※ Selection right transferred to each government department from the selection of ‘05 (Ministry of Personnel Management only assigns T/O)

Overview

  • Period of training: less than 6 months
  • Training institute: international organization related to trainee's job task foreign government organization, university-affiliated research institute, etc.
  • Qualification requirement
    - Age: currently 55 years old of younger according to the end of selection year
    - Position: Civil servant of rank 9 and above (including civil servant with special experience)
    - Experience: a person who has more than 2 years of actual work experience
    - Language requirement
    (English speaking country) above TOEFL 530 (CBT 197, iBT 71), Seoul National University · Hankuk University of Foreign Studies · Busan University of Foreign Studies language exam 60, British Council IELTS 5.5, G-Telp (Level Ⅱ) 70, TOEIC 675, TEPS 600

Training Expenses

  • 100% of overseas working allowance
  • School expenses: within Up to USD 4,000 per person
    ※ Expenses directly used in training and which is clear in history (organ burden expenses, tuition, expenses for seminar · workshop · academy, etc.)
  • Flight fee: set amount of GTR

  • Support capability cultivation for achieving government issue and central promotion task for each department
  • Customized training centered on demand of department (newly established in ‘09)

Overview

  • Country of training: within 2 countries and 3 organizations
  • Period of training: within 3 weeks
  • Number of people for training: standard of 3 people per team
  • Training organization: international organization, governmental organ, educational institution, research institute, private company, etc.
  • Method of training: participate in academy seminar, participate in education program operated by international organization, foreign governmental organization, hold union research with university, etc.

Selection Criteria

  • Age: a person who is currently 55 years old or younger based on the end of selection year
  • Position: Civil servant of rank 9 or above who is in charge of work related to training task
  • Experience: a person who has more than 2 years of actual work experience
  • Language requirement: a person who fulfills certain language requirement (1/2 of trainee fulfills requirement)

Expenses of training

  • Living expenses: 100% of overseas working allowance (provide twice of the living expenses for the first 15 days)
  • School expenses: Up to USD 1,500 per person
    ※ Expenses directly used in training and which is clear in history (organ burden expenses, tuition, expenses for seminar · workshop · academy, etc.)
  • Flight fee: set amount of GTR

Purpose and history

  • Support finding solution plan on national issue which needs to be resolved in union between departments as a related policy between many departments (newly established in ‘10)

Overview

  • Country of training: within 2 countries and 3 organizations
  • Period of training: within 2 weeks
  • Number of people for training: within 6 people per team (more than 2 departments participate)
  • Training organ: international organization, governmental organ, educational institution, research institute, private company, etc.
  • Method of training: task research at international organization, administrative organization, university research institute, attend class, participate in seminars, collect data, etc.

Selection standard of applicants

  • Age: a person who is currently 55 years old of younger based on the end of selection year
  • Position: civil servant of rank 9 or above who is in charge of work related to training task
  • Experience: a person who has more than 2 years of actual work experience
  • Language requirement: a person who fulfills certain language requirement (1/2 of trainee fulfills requirement)

  • Period of training: within 2 weeks
  • Number of people for training: within 8 people per team * including more than 2 people from local organization
  • Training organizations: international organization, governmental organ, educational institution, research institute, private company, etc.
  • Method of training: task research at international organization, administrative organization, university research institute, attend class, participate in seminars, collect data, etc.

Selection standard of applicants

  • Age: a person who is currently 55 years old of younger based on the end of selection year
  • Position: civil servant of rank 9 or above who is in charge of work related to training task
  • Experience: a person who has more than 2 years of actual work experience
  • Language requirement: a person who fulfills certain language requirement (1/2 of trainee fulfills requirement)
    - More than 50% of members fulfills requirements (excluding local organization civil servant)
    ※ Expenses of training for local organization trainee is responsible by local organization of belonging
